Multicultural Education

Upon reading, Affirming Diversity by Sonia Nieto and Teaching the Way Children Learn by Beverley Falk not only did I understand these authors clearly, but I absolutely agree with their ideas. There atomic number 18 many occassions where I read arcticles written by very smart mass and I feel as if they save to show finish their intellect by adding complex words into their readings as if a better more simplistic synonym for the word couldnt have been use. Im not trying to say Nieto and Falks works were some what of basic work for collegiate mind like minds, but sometimes its nice to read something that flows so well without looking up words in the dictionary so often. 
Affirming Diversity by Sonia Nieto is about the seven basic characteristics of multicultural education which are:
multicultural education is antiracist education.
multicultural education is basic education.
multicultural education is important for all students.
Multicultural education is pervasive.
Multicultural education is education for social justice.
Multicultural education is a process.
Multicultural education is critical pedagogy.
Ever since I was young, I was very much involved in a multicultural setting. My mother worked long hours so enrolled me and my siblings in to daycare centers.



These daycare centers were somewhat of a blessing to my mother because it was inexpensive and these daycares took us on trips every Friday. Educational trips, learning experience turn having fun. I remember going to museums of contrasting refinements going to plays of different tradions, eating weird and pleasant foods not belonging to my culture or the American culture that I was familiar with. so far I grew up to be not rasict, more render and diverse about what I eat and I fully grown to appreciate every culture rather than thinking its weird. Multicultural education, defined in a sociopolitical context, is a process of cosmopolitan school reform and basic education for all students.
