Last year the country of Iowa, I and moved from there, had devastating tornadoes and flooding. In the town I lived in for many years, Cedar Rapids, there were over 30,000 wad who alienated their shells to floods and all of the downtown businesses were flooded for a month. This caused many honorable dilemmas for the state of Iowa and many large cities.
The state and cities quickly got unneurotic to put in place laws that would stop contractors from over charging, home owners from raising the prices on their homes and to keep businesses from insisting employees work in unsafe working conditions.
As the state of Iowa started to clean up after the tornadoes and flooding subsided there was an increase in contractors and people in general flooding the state to make repairs or rebuild homes and businesses for people. Many of these people were charging outrageous amounts of money to do the work and much of it was not done according to city codes. Many families had to have the work redone after city and state inspectors came in to inspect the work.
