Amelie is an imaginative, highly active character, that works well in this fast paced movie. One day she discovers a tin loge hidden behind the wall of her apartment. It is filled with little toys and keepsakes that belonged to a young child, hidden decades before. She sets out on a mission to find the owner and return the treasures. She vows that if her mission has a cocksure outcome, she will devote herself to doing good deeds. This leads to numerous touching, amusing and antiquated adventures where Amelie deals out her own personal brand of justice to versatile characters, both good and evil.
Along the way, she discovers love. Interestingly, she turns it into a cat and mouse game of whodunit and fascination, making her lover fall for her and pursue her, without him ever penetrative who she is.
